The doors of IMSP opened in September 2002, serving 16 students aged eighteen months to six years. An immediate success, the school relocated the next year to our current facility in Prague 4. We also expanded our program, creating an Elementary classroom to bring Montessori to older students. In 2005, we grew again adding a second Primary class to our program. In 2006, our Czech Program – approved by the Czech Ministry of Education – was established.
The 2007 Academic year brought much excitement as we were accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). We also further developed our Elementary program by splitting it into Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) and Upper Elementary (ages 9-12). In our 2012 Academic year, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary, prompting us to reflect on our achievements and look forward to our continued growth, and at the end of this school year we will celebrate our 15th Anniversary.
